Still, don't unplug a speaker cable from an amp just to use it to plug a guitar in. Interchanging speaker and instrument cables can be bad when plugging in a head to a cab. There is a difference and it can damage an amp if you use the wrong one. GC uses orange cables to differentiate speaker cables from instrument cables. They will be happy to pull it down for you.ĭon't grab an orange cable and use it as an instrument cable. If you can't reach it, don't climb the ladder. If you're not sure, they should be glad to answer your questions and pull guitars down for you to try.ĭon't be afraid to grab a guitar and plug it in and play.
